Below is a brief outline of our most commonly asked questions. If further information is
required, please feel free to reach out to us directly by clicking “HERE

  1. What is MRRC?: The Macedon Ranges Running Club (MRRC) is a run club dedicated to promoting fitness and community through regular running sessions that cater to all levels of ability.
  2. Do I need to be a member of the Club to participate?  Yes. To participate in MRRC runs and events, you must be a member.  Membership benefits include Athletics Victoria member insurance, MRRC training programs, product discounts through our MRRC sponsors, and much more. We offer a complimentary “meet, greet and run” session, organised through your local Branch Coordinator, to give you the opportunity to see what we’re all about. If you wish to continue (and we’re confident you will) you are then required to join.
  3. Where do I sign up and how much does it cost? MRRC membership is $22.50 per year and runs from 1 April to 31 March, aligning with the membership year of Athletics Victoria.  You will be required to renew your membership yearly toremain an active member of the Club. All new and existing members can sign up via our MRRC website “Become a Member” page.
  4. Where and when are your club runs? MRRC has 6 branches dotted across the Macedon Ranges, helping to make our club runs easily accessible and convenient. Members can run at any branch they wish and are encouraged to try runs with other branches.  It may happen that some programs, schedules or events, such as our "Start Running Program", do not occur at every branch, in which case members are more than welcome to participate at any branch offering the program. For more information on times, days and locations near you, please visit the “Branches” page or click HERE. Please note, some information on this page is only accessible to our Members – if more information is required, contact us directly by clicking “HERE
  5. Do I need to be a certain level to join? No, runners of all levels are welcome. We encourage everyone to participate at their own pace.
  6. What should I wear to a run? Wear comfortable running attire appropriate for the weather, including running shoes. It is advisable to bring water and consider sunscreen and a hat in the warmer months.
  7. How do I find out more information about the Club?  Lots of useful information is already detailed on our website such as our upcoming events, the photo gallery, contacts, etc. We encourage you to have a browse! Specific queries can be directed to our contact page, and we will endeavour to answer you as soon as possible! Please note - Members of the MRRC have access to areas of the website that non-members do not. This includes specific details of club meeting times, locations and contact details of Branch Coordinators.
  8. What if there is something I want to know and can't find? You are welcome to send us a message here.
  9. Why do I have to register for events?  We encourage members to register for MRRC events via the Club website to advise us of how many members are attending.  This helps us understand the resources needed to support these events, including catering and volunteers needed, and to gauge the level of interest surrounding our MRRC club events.
  10. I want to get involved in the running of the Club, how can I do that?  We love our members participating in the running of our Club!  As we are an entirely volunteer run organisation, it takes a lot of effort from many people to keep the club vibrant.  Talk to one of our committee members, whose details you can find on the website, or have a chat with your friendly Branch Coordinator AND GET INVOLVED!!
